Airtasker teams up with Coles for fast and flexible grocery deliveries

  • Written by Alexander Liddington-Cox

Coles is teaming up with Australia’s largest local services marketplace Airtasker to trial a new fast and flexible grocery delivery offer for Sydney customers.

The Airtasker Shop and Deliver service helps Coles customers get their shopping done through a customised Coles@Airtasker website (www.airtasker.com/coles) supported by Airtaskers who have earned the Coles Badge.

The 12-month Coles@Airtasker trial will offer a new level of personalisation and convenience to Coles online shoppers. Not only will customers be able to specify exactly the delivery time they want, but one-to-one communication between Airtaskers and Coles shoppers will ensure shopping lists can be changed and missing items can be substituted based on personalised, real-time preferences.

Airtaskers who have received the Coles Badge will be able to complete Coles@Airtasker personal shopping tasks. To earn the badge, these Airtaskers have to complete a Coles branded shopping guide setting out how to pick and pack customer orders to maintain optimum quality and freshness, and meet required criteria on Airtasker.

“We know our customers enjoy the convenience of having their groceries delivered by Coles Online – this trial with Airtasker will make shopping even more convenient by allowing customers to deal directly with the person doing their shopping and bringing it to them,” said Coles Online General Manager Karen Donaldson.

“Whether it’s picking up a box of nappies at midnight or specifying unripe avocados so you can eat them later in the week, we think customers will love this new level of personalised service.”

Airtasker co-founder and chief executive Tim Fung said he was excited about how the Coles@Airtasker partnership can help people spend more time on the important things.

“Grocery shopping is one of the fastest-growing tasks on the Airtasker platform as Australians get smarter about how they use their time,” he said.

Coles@Airtasker is now available from 64 stores across Sydney.
